Yoruba Koya Initiative Empowers Youths; Installs Boroffice, Folorunsho As Matron, Alatunse; Brainstorms On Nigeria Security

In an effort to tackle the prevailing insurgency and to contribute positively to the nation’s economy, the Yoruba Koya Initiative has advised the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari to tighten the nation’s borders security to curb insecurity in our land.

In a report made available to OSUNREPORTERS NEWS by the group’s media consultant, Adewumi Adesina, the President of Yoruba Koya Initiative, Asiwaju Sunday Oladele during the youth empowerment programme and inauguration of the Deputy Majority Leader of the 9th Senate, Senator Ajayi Boroffice as Patron, and Chief Olalekan Folorunsho as Alatunse of Yoruba Koya Initiative, held on Tuesday, in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

In his words, the President of the sociocultural organization, Asiwaju Sunday noted that the objective of Yoruba Koya Initiative is to defend the interest of the nation by working with other security agencies in combating crimes in our environment.

YKI President explained that the peace and unity of Nigeria remains sacrosanct and nonnegotiable. He commended the president over the border closure policy stressing that the decision has further demonstrated his desire to secure the nation from insurgents, urging him to tighten the border’s security, while urging the President to give priority to youth empowerment to eradicate unemployment in Nigeria.

He siad, ”I’m advising our President to tighten the security in all the borders to curb insurgency and importation of ammunitions into Nigeria, while many were thinking the suspected Fulani helmsmen who have been terrorising our country are in Nigeria, some of these criminals are from neighbouring countries.

“Furthermore, our government should give priority to youth and farmers empowerment and make sure they monitor the empowerment programmes so as to accomplish the setting aims of finding lasting solution to the menace”, Asiwaju said.


The Olowu of Owukuta, Oba Hammeed Oyelude Makama; and the Osun State Seriki Fulani, Alh Adamu-Mina Yahaya also contributed by commending the leadership of Yoruba Koya Initiative for their contributions towards the development of the country. Olowo Kuta described the sociocultural group as a strong and powerful initiative said he was very glad by the group’s programmes.
