Yeyeluwa Modupeola Adeleke-Sanni, sister to Osun State Governor has described the lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency, Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi better known as Irekandu as a blessing to his people.

This was made known on November 9, 2024 by Yeyeluwa Modupeola at the launching of the Irekandu Ladies Cooperative Society on November 9, 2024.

The event which was held at the Ajayi Memorial Hall in Ibokun, headquarters of Obokun State Constituency showcased a unique women’s empowerment initiative led by Hon. Adewumi Adeyemi, popularly known as Irekandu, a lawmaker at the Osun State House of Assembly.

While complimenting Hon. Irekandu for his visionary leadership and commitment to women’s empowerment, Yeyeluwa revealed that she personally opposed Hon. Adeyemi Adeyemi Adewumi’s choice to run for a second term as a member of the Osun State House of Assembly in the 2023 election.

She narrated how she became interested in a female candidate until party officials from the Obokun State Constituency begged and insisted that Irekandu be given another chance to run.

‘I later agreed with party leaders. I blessed him, and I’m glad he didn’t disappoint. I’ve been watching his actions, and he also keeps me updated on them,’ she said.

“The overwhelming support I witnessed today reaffirms my belief that my brother, Governor Ademola Adeleke, will secure his re-election in 2026 and return to Bola Ige House in Abeere,” she declared.

“You have been given a platform to transform your lives. Learn all you can and work diligently to ensure the sustainability of this cooperative society so that other women may benefit from this noble initiative,” she emphasized.
