WOMEN IN POLITICS: Taiwo Oluga’s Motivating, Indelible Political Journey (must read)

A 44-year old vibrant woman from Gbongan in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon. Taiwo Oluga started her political career since the inception of Nigeria Democracy.

She was part of the National Delegate of APC in 2014; also made the coordinator of APC female aspirants group in the state of Osun.

In the year 2015, she contested for the Osun State House of Assembly Member, won and step aside by the party; She was the Vice Chairman of Progressives Solidarity Forum and a member of Federal Constituency Committee, Ayedaade Local Government.

Taiwo Oluga was part of the “Rural Development Board member, Ministry of Water and Resources, Rural Development and Community Affairs” State of Osun in 2013 – 2014. She was also appointed as board member state of Osun Library in 2014.

Governor Rauf Aregbeaola appointed her as his Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism 2017 until she was elected as the Honorable representing Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives, Abuja.

In her philanthropic gesture, Honourable Taiwo Oluga has contributed immensely to the development of Osun State, Ayedaade local government, and most especially to the life of the people of of her constituency.

She Built local Museum at the palace of Akire Of Ikireland. Organized world Cultural day (ASA day) With the support of UNESCO in Gbongan town. Support/help for Employment of some youths in Ayedaade, Irewole/Isokan Federal Constituency. Built Ojubo Osa Akiriwaye in Gbongan, Ayedaade Local Government.

In her quest for quality education, Oluga has supported the admission of Numerous indigene of Ayedaade/Irewole/Isokan Into Tertiary institutions; Note books and grants for Elementary, Middle and High School Students; Organized Essay and spelling competitions in year 2018 and 2019 with cash prizes and school materials. Provision of School uniforms and notebooks for Elementary, Middle and High School Students. Offered scholarship for some orphans and students of special needs in the Federal Constituency.

Medically, her humanitarian services can not be easily forgotten as she supplied medical equipment and materials to General Hospital in Orile, Owu in Ayedaade local government, Ikire General Hospital and Ikoyi Comprehensive Health centre.
