VP Shettima reacts to ongoing hunger protests, reveals next move
Amidst non-stop nationwide protest against economic hardship, hunger, and bad governance that have swept across the nation. Vice President Kashim Shettima, has reacted, saying the government is aware of the proters demands.
Shettima made this known while speaking as a guest at an event, Shettima addressed the grievances of the protesters, assuring them that the Federal Government is aware of their demands and is taking steps to address them.
Currently, Nigerians are facing one of the worst inflation and economic crises due to the government’s removal of petrol subsidies and the unification of foreign exchange rates.
Food and basic commodities prices have skyrocketed recently.
As a result of this, Nigerians and other civil society groups have decided to hit the streets to air their grievances and make their voices heard.
The protest which has entered its second day has been relatively peaceful with reports of violence in some Northern states as some hoodlums hijacked the peaceful protests and turned the states into war zones.
