Ukraine’s central bank governor, KYRYLO SHEVCHENKO said the country’s banking and financial system has remained resilient and been boosted by international financial support amounting to around 15 billion dollars.
SHEVCHENKO said in a news briefing today that National Bank is doing everything necessary to ensure the continuity of both non-cash and cash payments and the smooth functioning of the banking system of the state under martial law.
Mariupol’s mayor has also explained that Russian forces are trying to create a blockade around Mariupol and are attacking rail links to prevent civilians from evacuating the key port city, adding that constant attacks over the past 24 hours have cut off water and power supply and the local authorities need a ceasefire to restore power, he added.
