Two Killed, Palace Burnt In Osun Monarchy Dispute

Information reaching the OsunReporters News has it that two persons have been allegedly killed during a crisis over the monarchy of Araromi-Owu, a town in the Ayedaade local government area of Osun State escalated into a crisis on Tuesday.

According to reports, trouble started around 2:00PM when some hoodlums invaded the town and started causing trouble over royalty crisis.

Reports revealed that the situation had been developing since last week before it eventually snowballed into a full-blown crisis where many people were also injured.

According to a viral video shared on socio media, some buildings being burnt while some cars, including a Lexus jeep, were also damaged.

One of the sources anonymously said the hoodlums also burnt the community palace.

It was also gathered that some hoodlums attacked a batch of security operatives deployed to the community inflicting injuries on some personnel.

While confirming the incident, the Osun police command spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola said a mobile police force has been deployed to the town along with a special police unit to restore peace.
