Tragedy as building collapses in Osun

An uncompleted building has collapsed in Osogbo, the Osun State capital

Not less that fiver persons were reportedly trapped in the incident occurred around 8:AM on Sunday at Sabo area, Osogbo.

The tragic incident which thrown residents of the area into a state of shock as they thronged to the scene to participate in the rescue operation.

While speaking with the Vanguard, an eyewitness, Sani Isyaku, said emergency response officials were joined by residents in the effort to rescue those trapped in the building, adding that some individuals were taken out and rushed in an ambulance to the hospital, while others remained trapped in the debris.

Whwn contacted, the Spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Osun Command, Kehinde Adeleke, confirmed that five persons were trapped in the collapsed building.

According to her; “Two persons have been rescued while three are still trapped within the building. The team requires the service of a crane to clear the rubble before any further action can be taken. While we await the crane, people are doing all they can within their physical capacity to break the decking and connected rods.”(Vanguard)
