Tragedy As 16 Burnt To Death In Ondo-Ore Road Auto Crash
It was a tragic scene when 16 persons were burnt to death in an accident occurred in Ajue Community on Ore/Ondo highway in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State on Monday night.
According to reports, aside the 16 persons killed, three people sustained varying degrees of injuries while two escaped unhurt in the accident that involved two vehicles that had head-on collision.
While confirming the incident, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samuel Ibitoye, blamed it on over speeding and wrong overtaking along the busy Ondo/ Ore road, noting that the accident occurred late on Monday and the rescue operation ended at about 11 pm. Ibitoye said investigations on what led to the accident have not been concluded.
