Titi Tomori-Ponnle mourns Akeredolu, says, “He was my brother.”

The former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Otunba Titi Tomori-Ponnle, has described the demise of Ondo State Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as a painful loss to Ondo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria at large.

In a condolence message issued on Saturday, Tomori-Ponnle described the late Governor as a champion of the rule of law, democracy and true federalism who became a governor and Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum and Chairman, Southern Governors’ Forum in his lifetime.

Tomori-Ponnle, who served as Director of Southwest APC Grassroots Mobilization Engagement and Orientation Campaign in the 2023 presidential election, extends her condolences to the family of Akeredolu, the people , government of Ondo State , and the APC family for the great loss.

“The demise of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is a painful loss to Ondo State in particular, APC and Nigeria at large. Apart from being my leader and a governor, he was a brother to me.

“We’ve lost a progressive and fearless brother who left many indelible records behind.

“My condolences to the Akeredolu family, especially his wife , Mrs Betty Akeredolu, for the great loss. My condolence also goes to the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye 111 , for the loss of this illustrious son of Owo kingdom . The Lord will give everyone the strength to bear this great loss,” Tomori-Ponnle mourned.


Akeredolu, who died of prolonged ailment at the age of 67, was a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former President of the Nigerian Bar Association who rose to the pinnacle of his profession before joining partisan politics.
