Tinubu Presides Over First FEC Meeting

President Bola Tinubu is currently presiding over the inaugural Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting of his administration, which is taking place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

….The new cabinet members, who were inaugurated just last week on Monday, have been confirmed by the Senate Chamber in accordance with their constitutional obligations.

The cabinet comprises 45 ministers who successfully passed through the Senate screening process, while three other nominees did not receive clearance.

…..Among those in attendance are Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, the Head of the Civil Service of the federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, and the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

During the swearing-in ceremony of the ministers on August 21, President Tinubu highlighted their significant responsibility to restore public trust in the government, aiming to reestablish confidence that capable hands within the government can deliver results.

He encouraged the ministers to perform their duties with integrity, dignity, and efficiency, emphasizing that he would hold them to the high standards expected by the Nigerian people.

“In accordance with the constitutional mandates of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 45 ministers have been screened and confirmed to oversee the federal government ministries in this administration of renewed hope.

“These men and women, carefully chosen by me, possess a proven track record of excellence and accomplishment in both the public and private sectors.


“They represent the diversity of Nigeria and bring a range of experiences and expertise to their new roles, contributing to guiding the nation’s affairs and continuing the process of nation-building and transformation of our financial and structural landscape, which are pivotal to the present and future of Nigeria.”
