The Drama Of How Osun Assembly Rejected Oyetola’s Nominee

The Osun State House of Assembly has frown at the action of the nominee of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, in person of Barrister Waliyu Salman, OSUNREPORTERS NEWS gathered.

The frown at the nomination of Salman as Commissioner for the State Judicial Service Commission from Ejigbo Local Government Area of the State was as a result of not recognising the lawmaker from his constituency.

The screening of Salman at the plenary witnessed a dramatic scene, when the Speaker of the House, Hon Timothy Owoeye requested that the Lawmaker from the constituency, Adekunle Oyekunle to comment on the nominee.

While expressing his concern, Oyekunle disclosed to the house that he was meeting the nominee for the first time after he (Oyekunle) had called to congratulate him after his nomination, adding that Salman had stopped picking or returned his call till he appeared before the house.

When contributing on the matter, other lawmakers faulted the action of the nominee for ignoring the lawmaker despite making advances towards him.

The nominee, however, tendered his apology but the proceeding was stand down for an hour to resolve some issues before final consideration.

OsunReporters News later gathered that the lawmakers later reconvened few hours latter where the nominee was eventually screened for the office nominated for.
