Suspected Cultists Arrested In Osun (Photo)

The men of Osun State Amotekun Anti-Cultism Squad led by the OC in a joint operation with Police Anti-Cultism Squad have arrested suspected cultists terrorizing the Ilesa metropolis.

The suspects are, Kareem Ojo, 32 years, like choice area ilesa, who was arrested with the drugs at 8:30 pm, Adedamola Salamo, 26 years was arrested at 6:30 pm in Irogbo Ilesha, cultist, and drug dealer, Olatunji Ezekiel, 24 years was arrested at Orogba Street Ilesha at 7:55 pm cultist and drug dealer, Adeyeye Adekunle, 33 years was arrested in Ilesha at Isokun, a cultist and drug dealer, Tope Oguntade, 35 years was arrested at Isokun Street Ilesha drug dealer and cultist arrested at 7:33 pm.

The cultists who were caught at different locations in Ilesa had dangerous weapons such as axes, guns, and charms in their possession.

They were arrested after a complaint was lodged at Amotekun Headquarters on the activities of the suspected cultists terrorizing the Ilesa metropolis and its environs, Amotekun Anti-Cultism Squad in a joint operation with the Police Anti-Cultism Unit swung into action immediately on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and burst the black spot of the notorious criminals.

The suspected cultists were arrested at different locations in the Ilesa township, two of the notorious men of Bishop at Idasa area were arrested, and two other members were also arrested in the area, the hint man of Eiye Confraternity Busuyi Ojo was also arrested at Anaye in Ilesha with two cartridge bullet, Charms, and other dangerous weapons.

Recalled that the suspected cultists on Saturday launched an attack on the Amotekun Anti-Cultism Squad who are on patrol to forestall law and order during the Iwude ijesa celebration in Ilesa township, the operatives of the squad were attacked by the cultists with dangerous weapons, the operatives who sustained various degree of injuries during the attacks.

The suspects after the arrests confessed to being members of the Eiye confraternity and they have been members for a long time.

It was revealed that the suspects have been on the wanted list of the Osun Police Anti-Cultism Unit for a long time.

Confirming the arrest to the newsmen in Osogbo, the Corps Commander of Osun Amotekun Corps, Brig. Gen. Bashir Adewinmbi asserted that the suspected cultists were arrested at different spots in Ilesa township by the Amotekun Anti-Cultism Squad in a joint operation with the Police Anti-Cultism Unit.

“The suspects who had been terrorizing ilesa township for a long time and men of the Amotekun Anti-Cultism Squad swung into action immediately a complaint was lodged on the activities of the criminals and they were busted at different spots and arrested the suspects with dangerous weapons.

“During cross-examination, the suspects confessed to being a member of the Eiye confraternity and they have been members for a long time.

“They have been on the wanted list of the Osun Police Anti-Cultism Unit for a very long time before luck ran against them”. Adewinmbi said.


The suspects have been handed over to the Police Anti-Cultism Unit for subsequent interrogation and prosecution.
