Supreme Court finally delivers judgement on Tinubu/Shettima’s disqualification

The Supreme Court has dismissed the suit seeking to disqualify President-Elect Bola Ahmed and Vice President-Elect Kashim Shettima>>>over the double nomination of the latter.

The suit which was filed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, claimed that Shettima’s nomination as Tinubu’s running mate was in>>>>breach of the provisions of sections 29(1), 33, 35, and 84(1)(2) of the Electoral Act, 2022.

However, the five-member panel of the Supreme Court held that>>>>the PDP lacks the locus stand to institute the suit.

….It also stated that the PDP we’re not a member of the All Progressive Congress.
