Following the passing of the suspect allegedly engaged in the attack on the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleman, General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry, the state commissioner of police, AIG Abutu Yaro, has replaced CSP Ayodele Suleiman as the Divisional Police Officer of Auchi Division, Edo State.

The DPO’s withdrawal was one of the steps taken to determine what exactly happened to one of the remaining members of the gang that attacked the convoy, according to a statement by the Command’s Deputy Public Relations Officer, Jennifer Iwegbu, who also instructed him to report to the state police command for debriefing.

The statement said, “With immediate effect, the outgoing CP now AIG Abutu Yaro has ordered the withdrawal of CSP Ayodele Suleiman and DPO Auchi for debriefing at the State Headquarters.

“We advised the public to maintain their composure and assured them that we would look everywhere to learn the details of the tragedy.”

One of the alleged assailants of the Apostle Suleiman was apprehended by vigilantes in the neighborhood, according to a previous report in The PUNCH, and turned over to the police.

In response to the alleged death of the suspect, Apostle Suleman posted on his Twitter account that the police were attempting to destroy any evidence that might help identify his assailants.
