State Govt slashes tertiary institutions’ fees

,,,,,,,The Kano State government has reduced the registration fees charged by the State-owned tertiary institutions.

The Commissioner for Higher Education in the State, Dr Yusuf Kofarmata stated this on Monday while briefing with journalists at the Government House, Kano.

…..He further explained that the decision was reached during the meeting between the heads of tertiary institutions and the Governor of the State, Alh Abba Kabir Yusuf.

According to him, the 50 per cent reduction was in consideration of the current economic situation created by the removal of fuel subsidy.

,,,,,,He said the reduction affects all Kano State indigenes studying regular courses for 2023/2024 academic session at the Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil (ADUSTECH), Yusuf Maitama Sule University, (YUMSUK), Kano and Sa’adatu Rimi University of Education.

Others are Kano State Polytechnic, Aminu Kano College of Islamic and Legal Studies, Audu Bako College of Agriculture, Danbatta, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso College of Advance…..and Remedial Studies, Tudun Wada, and Kano State College of Education and Remedial Studies (KACEPS).


,,,,,,,He said that the decision was in line with the State government’s commitment to educational development, noting that this could be seen in the restoration of foreign scholarships for over 1,000 students.
