State gov approves payment of N70k Minimum Wage from August
Amidst lamentation on the implementation of the newly approved N70,000 minimum wage by some state governors, the Adamawa State governor, Alhaji Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the payment of N70,000 minimum wage for civil servants in the state with effect from this month, August
According to reports, Fintiri announced this today via a post on his verified X account, noting that the payment of the new minimum wage, set to commence in August, is a reaffirmation of his administration’s commitment to the welfare of civil servants in the state.
He wrote; “As a demonstration of our commitment to the welfare of workers in Adamawa State, I have approved the payment of a N70,000 minimum wage starting this August. Our civil servants deserve this and more. Together, we will continue to build a prosperous future for all.”
It should be recalled that President Bola Tinubu signed a bill on the new national minimum wage into law after being passed by the National Assembly in July.
