Dead Body Found In Osun River Buried By Family In Osogbo

On Monday afternoon, an unidentified lifeless body was reportedly seen floating on Omu river bank, Kelebe area in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun.

Some minutes after the shocking incident was reported to the police by the community, the body was recoverd by the officers of the Nigeria Police Command, Osogbo and had since been taken to mortuary at the Ladoke Akintola Teaching Hospital, LAUTECH Osogbo.

While speaking on the matter, Chief Bisiriyu Aderemi, Baale Ajoda Idi-Okiti, Iragbiji said he saw the lifeless body of the man floating in the river. He explained, “I thought it was just an ordinary thing not until I moved closer and later discovered it was a dead body.”

The Chief added that he was on his way to Iragbiji when he suddenly saw the lifeless body of a yet-to-be identified man floating, initially I thought it was ordinary thing not until I moved closer and later discovered it was a dead body.

Chief Aderemi said, “According to my findings, we leant the man was mentally unstable. But nobody can ascertain what could have been the cause of his death.”

Mr Nurudeen Salami, who is a police officer from Iludun Police Division, said the remaining of the deceased have evacuated following the report they got in their office.


The remaining of the body was reportedly buried beside Osun river by his family on Tuesday 7th April, 2020 in Osogbo.
