So Sad: Student drowns in Ilorin river
It was a sober moment when a 11-year-old boy, Identified as Anas, drowned while swimming with friends at Olorode Rivers in Lao area, Ilorin on Monday.
The JSS One student of Government Day Secondary School Airport, Ilorin, who is a resident of Temidire Community in Ajegunle, Asadam area, Ilorin went to swim with some of his classmates while returning from school.
An eyewitness, Mr Ponle Adisa, described the urgly incident as unfortunate after several efforts made to rescue him proofed abortive, while Akanbi Popoola, who is a resident of Olorode Community, explained how he was given a call about the incident and quickly rushed to report at the nearest police station to avoid unnecessary arrest of innocent people in the area.
