Following the fight between two factions of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) on Thursday in Oyo State, the residents of Ibadan were left in apprehension.
Six suspects were arrested by the security operatives to rescue the situation.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Olugbenga Fadeyi, confirmed that suspects were apprehended by men of the Orita Challenge and Agodi Divisional Police Divisions, claiming no arms or ammunition were seized, adding that those arrested would be on Friday (today) charged to court.
In Police Public Relations Officer’s words, “Three NURTW miscreants were arrested by our Orita Challenge division, with the assistance of SARS operatives on Wednesday, and the other three were nabbed on Thursday in the Agodi area by the DPO of the division.”
Recall that OSUN REPORTERS had earlier reported as factional members of the NURTW were threatening to attach others from the day before and on the inauguration of the new Governor, Egnr. Seyi Makinde held on Wednesday 29th May, 2019.
