Senate passes bill to establish 3 new universities (See List)

___The Nigerian Senate has approved the establishment of three new federal institutions during a plenary session on Tuesday.

….Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin presided over the session where the bills successfully passed their third reading.

______The newly approved institutions include the Federal University of Sports in Afuze, Edo State, the Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery in Otu-Jeremi, Delta State, and the Federal College of Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Sciences in Isiala Mbano, Imo State.

….____In a separate matter, the Senate has called on the Libyan government to issue an apology to Nigeria due to the poor treatment received by the Super Eagles upon their arrival for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier.


____The Senate expressed strong disapproval of the actions of Libyan officials, describing them as a violation of basic human rights and an affront to international standards.
