Security Operatives kill 5 terrorists in Birnin Gwari
In continuing their offensive against terrorists, security forces operating on identified bandit enclaves informed the Kaduna state government that five bandits were killed in two locations covering Birnin local government areas. Gwari and Giwa.
Samuel Aruwan, State Commissioner at the Ministry of Homeland Security and Home Affairs, briefed reporters on developments in Kaduna on Monday, November 29, 2021.
According to the report, troops on patrol made contact with bandits around a hiding place identified in Birnin Gwari’s LGA. They engaged in a cannon duel, after which it was confirmed that two bandits had been neutralized.
Meanwhile, in another raid on a bandit camp around Idasu in Giwa LGA, security forces hired the criminals and after a shootout, three of them were confirmed neutralized.
Cumulatively, at the two sites, two AK47 rifles, a shotgun and three motorcycles were recovered during the operations and are in the custody of the army.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai received the reports with satisfaction and thanked the security forces for carrying out precise and effective missions. The Governor urged them to continue their efforts to dismantle the identified criminal enclaves.
The commissioner said demining operations would continue in these and other locations across the state.
