School Principal, four teachers kidnapped by gunmen

Suspected kidnappers have again kidnapped a principal, Joshua Adeyemi, his vice, lfedayo Yesufu and three other teachers along the Auga-Ise road in the northeastern council area of ​​Akoko in Ondo state.
Adeyemi is the principal of the Auga Community Grammar School while lfedayo is the vice.

The three teachers also kidnapped from the same school are Oloyede Bukola, Adagunodo Funmilayo and Blessing Okeke.

An eyewitness said the incident happened on Thursday afternoon as they were driving a blue Toyota Corolla car owned by the school principal along the Auga-Ise road in the council area of Akoko Northeastern State.

The source said the unsuspecting victims were ambushed and taken to the thick forest by the kidnappers.

One of the victims, Blessing Okeke, was released after the kidnappers discovered she was pregnant.
Recounting the incident, Blessing said they were pulled over as they were traveling in the main vehicle from home school.

Blessing added that they had walked for hours through thick forest before she was released after their captors found out she was pregnant.
Ikare’s divisional police officer Oladutoye Akinwan said detectives had been deployed to sweep the forest in an attempt to secure the release of the victims.

Akinwa added that the vehicle the victims were traveling in prior to their kidnapping was recovered from the location where it was abandoned by the kidnappers.


Akoko residents called on the state government to strengthen security in the northern senatorial districts due to the increased crime rate after the removal of military checkpoints across the state.
