Profile of Three newly ministerial nominees

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday, October 3, forwarded three additional names of ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation.

The three nominees are Dr. Jamila Bio, Balarebe Abbas, and Olawale Olawande.

Here’s what you need to know about the nominees:

Dr Jamila Bio

Dr Jamila Bio Ibrahim is an indigene of Kwara.

Her father, Ibrahim Bio, was the former minister of sports in the Goodluck Jonathan administration.

The 37-year-old is a medical doctor, politician, and development practitioner.

Ibrahim was once the national president of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Young Women Forum (PYW)

She also served as senior special assistant on health matters to the governor of Kwara

As a public worker, she is a staunch supporter of the United Nations Global Goals (SDGs)

Balarebe Abbas

Balarebe Abbas was born on February 5, 1958 in Kachia, Kaduna state.

Balarebe attended Barewa College Zaria between 1964 and 1970.

He got his B.sc in Political Science at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

He is a seasoned educator serving as a lecturer in Port Harcourt and Zaria.

He was Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Education Federal Ministry of Education Abuja. From September 1999 to February 2001.

He was also Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Army, Ministry of Defence, Abuja from February 2001 to May 2003.

He also served as Special Assistant to the President in FCT and Chief of Staff to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. From July 2003 to July 2007, and he was also secretary to the Kaduna state government in 2015.

Olawale Olawande

Olawale Olawande is a community development expert and youth leader in the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

He was born and raised in Lagos

He most recently served in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023.

He also served as the youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state.
