Police Arrest Owner Of Hilton Hotel Owner For Suspected Murder Of OAU Student

Osun State Police Command arrested Hilton Hotels and Resorts owner Dr. Rahman Adegoke Adedoyin for the disappearance of Obafemi Awolowo University (OUA) student Mr. Timothy Adegoke.

The latest development was revealed by a statement from Osun State Police Public Relations Officer Sp Yemisi Opalola on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Timothy, an OAU Master of Business Administration (MBA) student, was previously reported missing after coming from Abuja to take his exam at the OAU Distance Learning Center in Moro, in Osun State. He is said to have stayed at the Hilton hotel in Ife, Osun state on several occasions between October 22 and November 5, 2021.

He is said to have frequented town to take scheduled MBA exams at regular intervals.
However, he was later declared missing after checking in at the hotel on Friday November 5, 2021, preceding his scheduled exams for Saturday November 6 and Sunday November 7.

Meanwhile, the Osun State Police Command, in a statement released on Wednesday, said: “Following the previous press release issued regarding the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Timothy Adegoke; an OAU masters student who came from Abuja to take his exam at the OAU Distance Learning Center, Moro, Osun State, the Police Commissioner, CP Olawale Olokode, psc wishes to inform the general public that, in addition to the six (6) previously arrested suspects, the President of the Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife, Dr Ramon Adegoke Atobatele Adedoyin was also arrested on November 15, 2021.

“He is currently in police custody, undergoing questioning in connection with the case, awaiting the hospital autopsy report.

“While thanking members of the public, in particular the bereaved family, students and the OAU leadership for their patience in allowing the police to pursue a thorough investigation into the matter, the CP reiterates the command’s commitment the state police to ensure that justice is done; regardless of the personality of the person (s) involved in the case or how high or low they are in society; if he is found guilty.


“In the meantime, a further update on the case will be made public as the event unfolds,” the statement said.
