PDP Expels Chairman, Secretary, 3 Others

,,,,,The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Nnewi North LGA has dismissed it’s Chairman, Mr. Ifeamuma Nwafor-Orizu, Mr. Chibunna Udegbunam, the LG secretary, and four other members for embezzlement, anti-party activity, and forgery.

,,,,This was contained in a communique signed by the Local Government party executives and ward chairmen following a press conference that took place in Tuesday day, May 2, 2023.

Among those expelled are Chima Ngoka Uruagu Ward 1 Chairman, Chukwudi Anamuasonye Otolo Ward 1 Chairman and Akwueke Obinwanne Nwakile Otolo Ward 1 Secretary.

,,,,,Speaking to newsmen after the press conference, the party Area Leader, Engr. Clement Eloka Ike (Ifediche Nnewi) expressed how shameful, embarrassing their actions has brought to the party.

In his words; “The activities of the expelled officer’s of the party is shamefully embarrassing. How do you explain a situation where a supposed Local Government Chairman of a party, beyond embezzling money meant for election, went as far as openly coordinating a Campaign activities of a Federal House of Reps candidate of another party, or that of the Local Government Secretary of the party, who in his desperate bid to become the leader of Nnewi Youths ,rather than resign his position as the Local Government Secretary of the party went ahead to present a forged letter of resignation which has a criminal dimension. Infact this is the worst set of leadership that the party has seen of recent and it is very shameful and embarrassing to say the least “.

,,,,,The decision of the party to expel them is pursuant to Sections 58 and 59 (1)(g) of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017) as correctly quoted by the deputy chairman, Hon. Nze Joseph Okafor while reading out the communique.
