Panic as policeman kills driver in Osun
Panic gripped residents of the Otefun region in the Osogbo state capital, Osun, as a police officer reportedly gunned down the driver.
It was learned that angry residents took the victim’s body to Otefun Police Station to protest the incident.

Angry protesters blocked the Osogbo / Ikirun road around the Otaefun / Kobo area, causing heavy traffic
Protesters also attempted to walk to the police station along Ota-Efun, but officers resisted and fired sporadically for several minutes to drive them away.
Sources said the policemen on patrol rushed into the Otaefun police station to escape the onslaught of angry youths.
According to unconfirmed reports, a policeman who was unable to flee the scene could have been lynched by an angry youth.
It was not possible to immediately determine the immediate reason for the murder of the innocent citizen.
However, various sources claimed that the deceased was shot at point blank range by a policeman attached to a patrol team in the early hours of today due to his refusal to remove their drilling vehicle from where he was. packed up.
According to sources, immediately the police team discovered that a driver of the drilling vehicle had been shot, they fled the scene of the incident to avoid retaliation from angry passers-by who witnessed the incident.
Osun Police spokesperson Yemisi Opalola said she had just been made aware of the incident.
