Owoeye Meets Osun Online Media Practitioners, Says Role Of Media Is Sacrosanct To Democracy

The 7th Osun State House of Assembly speaker, Rt Hon. Timothy Owoeye, has reaffirmed the need for a robust relationship between media practitioners and the government at all level for the growth of democracy in Nigeria.

Owoeye made this known while meeting with members of Osun Online Media Practitioners Association at the assembly complex on Wednesday in Osogbo.

Owoeye said he believes in the power of the media so much because it’s via their operations that it becomes possible and much easier to disseminate information to the grassroots.

Osun assembly speaker reiterates his readiness of the 7th assembly under his leadership to build a progressive relationship with the media.

While reacting to a question on the recently constituted cabinet of the state government, he described the newly constituted state cabinet by governor Oyetola as square pegs in square hole while also expressing confidence in their ability to assist the governor in taking the state to greater heights.

On behalf of the 7th assembly, Owoeye promised to intensify oversight functions to complement the executive in its drive to develop the state under governor Oyetola’s watch.
