Osun Residents Troop Out In Osogbo, Ile-Ife On Day-2 Hardship Protest

Many residents of Osun State, again occupied the streets of Osogbo to register their grievances as the ten-day #EndBadGovernance protest enters day two.

The protesters came out massively yesterday to press home their demands from the government, insisting they won’t rest until their demands are.

OsunReporters News had earlier reported that some Osun youth under the aegis of Coalition of Concerned Nigerian Citizens, on Thursday stormed streets in protest against hunger and hardship in the country, marching through major streets of the capital city, Osogbo.

Also, some youths also held the protest in Ile-Ife, where both students and non-students of the Obafemi Awolowo University participated while chanting solidarity songs and arrying banners bearing varying inscriptions to send signal to the government to address many challenges confronting the nation.

Displaying their banners with inscriptions on their banners and placards read, “We want food price control with immediate effect,” “Revert fuel price to Pre-May 29, 2023 price,” “Local Government is the key to national and economic development,” among others.

The peaceful protesters moved from Old Garage to Olaiya as security operatives accompanied them, while ensuring there is no break down of law and order.

While they continue to press for their demands to be met, the protest took another twist as the Muslim youths observed their Jumma’at prayers under the popular Olaiya Flyover.

When it was time for their Jumma’at prayers, the Muslims came together to observe the prayer at the protest ground while the Christians gave them protection.
