OSUN OSOGBO FESTIVAL 2019: Selected Traditionalists, Culture Promoters To Bag ‘Culture Icon Merit Awards’ by OPUA In Osogbo

The Osogbo Peace and Unity Advocacy, a group saddled with the responsibility of promoting the peace and unity of Osogbo, has announced 2019 Conferment of the Prestigious Culture Icon Merit Awards inline with this year Osun Osogbo Festival.

This was contained in a release made available to the OSUN REPORTERS, where the Director General of the group, Chief ‘Bosun Oyedele explained the schedule of the programme as public lecture is one of the major aspect of the event with the tittle “THE GRADUAL EXTINCTION OF THE YORUBA CULTURE; Rescue Model and Solution” to be delivered by Mrs. Adeola Adijat Faleye PhD of the department of Linguistics and African Languages, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.

The Ataoja of Osogbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun Larooye ll is the Royal Father of the day; Amb. (Dr) Rasaki Adejare Shiyanbola as the Father of the day; while Chief Gani Adams the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland is expected to be the Chairman of the occasion, and Evg. (Mrs) Maltilda Farinde will be the Chairperson among other eminent personalities.

Some of the traditionalist icon and culture promoters to bag the Prestigious Culture Icon Merit Award 2019 includes; High Chief (Dr) Kayode Idowu Esuleke, Chief Akangbe Ogun, High Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, Chief Ifakayode Ifaniyi Agesinjaweifa, Chief (Mrs) Fausat Ogunremi, Prince Lukman Ayodeji Wahab (Sango of Africa), Omooba Adedeji Aladesawe (Oranmiyan 1), Chief Dr. Rauf Akinwale, and Chief Ifasola Ogunjinmi, Aare (Dr) Ifagbenusola Atanda, and Chief Olaifa Olanrewaju.

The programme is slated for Thursday 15th August, 2019, a day before the grand finale of Osun Osogbo Festival, at the Royal Spring Holiday Inn, Biket Area, Osogbo the Osun State capital at 10:00am.

The group is reminding the invited dignitaries, and general public to honour the invitation as pure cultural display and entertainment would be of priority on that day.
