Osun Govt Inaugurates Education Review Committee (Full List)

The State Government of Osun under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola has inaugurated a 13-member committee that would review some policies in the Education Sector of the state; and come up with recommendations to the government in other to improve the Education in the state.

Meet the committee chairman and members with their shot profile below:

Professor Olu Aina is the chairman of the committee. Prof Aina is Pro-Chancellor of Crown-Hill University, Ilorin; Professor of Vocational and Technical Education at Ahmadu Bello University; Chief Executive Officer, National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB); Executive Member of ICPC, and has supervised more than 45 thesis ranging from Masters to Doctorate levels.

Professor Ibidapo-Obe OFR,FAS, FAEng, FNCS, FNIM, F.ASCE, F.AAS, FTWAS is a distinguished Professor of Systems Engineering, an educational administrator, a former Vice Chancellor of the University of Lagos and a Fellow of the Africa Academy of Science.

Lt. General Ipoola Alani Akinrinade  (Retired), CFR FSS was Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Chief of Defence Staff, former Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Rural Development, Minister of Industries and Minister of Transport in 1989.

Professor Yemisi Obilade is Harvard-trained educationist , former Commissioner for Education in Osun and former Vice Chancellor of Tai Solarin University of Education.

Professor Pai Obanya, emeritus Professor in the Institute of Education, University of Ibadan is currently Chairman of Council of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), has served as Technical Adviser to the Reform Implementation Committee of the Federal Ministry of Education, and Chairman of the Presidential Task Team on Education.

Dr Iyi Uwadiae is the immediate past Registrar of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), an accomplished researcher and administrator who has played frontline roles in the intellectual activities of the Council in the West African Sub-region and member of the Nigerian Institute of Management.

Prof B. A. Adeyemi is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education, Institute of Education, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

Mrs Moyo Adeleke is former Principal and Member of the Association of Retired Principals of Secondary Schools.

Prince F.A. Adejumo is a Principal Emeritus and Ex President, ANCOPSS

Mr Kola Busari is a Retired Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, State Government of Osun.

A.E Ijaodola is State Chairman of ANCOPSS and has been a principal for over 30years

Olorunso Alao is a seasoned administrator, former Permanent Secretary in the State Ministry of Education. He is the nominee of retired Permanent Secretaries and Head of Service Association

MR Wakeel Amudah is a seasoned teacher with over 30 years experience. He is currently the State Chairman of Osun Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT).

Recall that the last administration led by Governor Aregbesola also set up committee to review Osun state education sector in 2011 which later resulted to recalcification of education from elementary, Middle, High schools including tertiary institutions in the state under the acronym of O’School.
