THE VICTORY SPEECH DELIVERED BY THE NEWLY ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF THE OSUN STATE CHAPTER OF FREELANCE AND INDEPENDENT BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (FIBAN), ADEKUNLE ISMAIL ABOLADE DODOEDE, TODAY 17TH JULY, 2020.
Up FIBAN!
Up FIBAN!!
Up FIBAN!!!
The Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria Electoral Committee (FIBANEC) of our noble and prestigious association has announced the results of the Osun FIBAN 2020 Election. This means that indeed you people have spoken and clearly too. By these words, I accept the mandate you have given and understand that it bestows a most profound honour and sober responsibility on me.
I sincerely thank the electoral umpire for conducting a free, fair and credible election. I commend all those who supported and contributed to this campaign:
1. Lazotech Global Concept Ltd
3. Jummy Gold Concept
4. Awokunle Hakeem
5. Dr Lawrence Dada (Alagbara Oko)
6. Honorable Commissioner for Finance, Balogun Bola Oyebamiji
7. Engineer Keji Adewole, chairman, Porticade Construction Company Ltd.
7. My Press Secretary, Popoola Oladayo Samson
8. All my Campaign Team.
You have laboured and toiled countless hours and done so without complaint or hesitation. You exerted yourselves not just for me but because you believe in my RESTORATION AGENDA. You are too numerous and too many to name at this time. In the next few days, I will make sure I thank each of you personally for your contributions to this collective effort.
3. Most of all, I want to commend and honour fellow FIBAN members that voted. While this victory may bear my name because it must bear a name, this victory belongs to you, fellow FIBAN members.
4. At this point, I would like to thank the FIBAN Nationals and the Osun State FIBAN Council of Elders, thank you Immensely. To our committed, energetic and visionary national leader Prince Kolade Alabi, I thank you for the quality of leadership you provide. We shall remain faithful to the RESTORATION AGENDA for a better FIBAN. To my darling wife, Mrs Oluwafunmilayo Arike Mama Ife, I cannot thank you enough for being my pillar of support. To fellow newly elected executives, you are all excellent partners whose experience and intellect will serve this noble and prestigious association. We will stay united in the service of our people.
6. This election signaled more than a vote for me or any other aspirant. It was a vote on how an association and its people would define themselves. However, we would be courageous and confident enough to seek our greater place in the world and join ourselves in productive cooperation that will uplift our association (FIBAN) instead of spending the greater number of hours fighting each other.
7. The election is over. Our people are generous in spirit, compassionate at heart and as fair-minded as any people can be. Despite the challenges that we may face, our people exist in a space that is above hatred. I sincerely appreciate you all.
8. To emerge the leader of a prestigious association such as this is a great honour of the highest level and a sacred obligation. A leader befitting this association and its people is one who unites and leads them to greater progress; not one who seeks to pit them against each other.
9. To fellow contestant, I want to say that as the day has matured, it has also evolved into a moment for reconciliation because the people have clearly made their decision. Whatever transpired during the campaign and election is forgotten. I keep no ledgers of personal grievances and hold no grudges. You contested vigorously and did so as you saw fit. I respect anyone who enters the arena of public endeavour and submits themselves to the decision of the people. For the many who might compete for an office, only one can win. You all gave much toward the election. Now it is time that we put aside insignificant differences that loomed during the election so that we can give even more and do even better for the good of FIBAN.
10. I am humbled that the FIBAN elected me as the Chairman to lead them in the next three years. I vow to you, that my eye and my mind are focused on the future, too fixed on my campaign promises to FIBAN. Without doubt, FIBAN is more than a space that we occupy. FIBAN is a way of life that speaks of a commitment to entertainment and broadcasting in all facets of human endeavour. You elected me because I have a vision in mind and a mission at heart that I must fulfill.
11. Permit me to break this good news to you that as we speak:
1. Assalam Estate has donated a plot of land at Dagbolu for FIBAN, Osun state.
2. Lazotech Global Concept Ltd has donated 500 blocks
3. Shekeenah Zelter Global Concept Ltd has donated 200 blocks
