OSUN APC CHAIRMANSHIP RACE: Salinsile Calls For Calmness Among Supporters, Warns Rumor Mongers
The State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun, Alh Rasaq Salinsile has disclaimed the information circulating on his Chairmanship ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State.
In a press release made available to OSUN REPORTERS, Salinsile warned against the decision by some individuals to propagate his ambition by using various untainted languages and unverified information about his mission to be the number one progressive party man in Osun.
According to the release, “My attention has been drawn to several posts on the social media especially Facebook by some individuals campaigning on my behalf for the chairmanship seat of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The decision by some individuals to propagate this using various untainted languages and unverified information is not in any way from me or any links whatsoever associated with me.”
The Iwo born politician made it known that while consultations about his chairmanship ambition are ongoing within the party, the leadership of the party has not in any way endorse any candidate as at now.
He said, “As at today, the leaders of the All Progressives Congress APC are yet to decide on when and how the processes for the selection of new leaders at the ward, local government and state Level is to go by. This underscores the fact that there is no point campaigning for an election that its framework and guidelines is yet to be prescribed. Leaders decide in the Progressives and we follow.
“The only thing going on at the moment are consultations with various stakeholders on how best the restructuring of the party for better performance and results in the next elections will be done. This does however not mean that we are campaigning but looking for ways to move our party forward.”
The immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Aregbesola reaffirmed his loyalty to the party, and maintained that the party decision is final. He then called for calmness amongst the people who are in support of his Chairmanship ambition to wait till the party guidelines will be released.
In his words, “There is the supremacy of the party. The party is beyond every of our interests, we should learn to respect that whether we are influential or not, the party will always be bigger than any interest.
“I wish to urge our people to renew their commitment and loyalty to our great party. I underscore the essence of your loyalty and passion to the success of our party better than we met it in 2014.”
The embryonic chairman concluded by warning those who propagate unverified information about him especially on the social media as a political blackmails to desist from it.
“Conclusively, I urge the media to please try and certify the source of their aforementioned issues and other challenges facing politicians.” he added
