Organised Labour gives reason for suspending nationwide strike

Information reaching the OsunReporters News has it that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have suspended the ongoing industrial action for five days.

The five days condition attached to the suspension is to allow the union Annette federal government to reach an agreement on the minimum wage.

,,,,The development was confirmed by TUC president Festus Osifo on Tuesday in Abuja.

,,,,,According to reports, a communique will be issued shortly, the labour chief said.

,,,,”””:The strike suspension to allow uninterrupted meetings with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage.

It should be recalled that the SGF, George Akume promised that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is committed to paying higher than N60,000 as the minimum wage.


,,,,,,,,,He also assured that no worker would face repercussions for participating in the strike and that the tripartite committee would convene daily for the next week to finalize the new minimum wage.
