Olowu Of Kuta, Installed As Life Patron Of NUJ In Osun

It was a day to be remembered in the capital city of Osun State, Osogbo, where the paramount ruller of Owu-Kuta Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyelude Adekunle Makama (Tegbosun III) was decorated and honoured by the Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists Osun State Council, as the Life Patron of the union, OSUNREPORTERS NEWS gathered.

At the event, which took place at the premises of the state owned broadcasting house on Wednesday, where the Monarch was installed as patron to acknowledge his contributions to the development of Osun and Nigeria, particularly the Union.

While speaking, the chairman of OSBC NUJ chapel, Mr Tunde Adeyemo described Oba Oyelude Adekunle Makama as extra – ordinary Royal Father who has touched many lives with his kind gesture towards Journalists, describing honour bestowed on him by the union as a deserved recognition of his contributions towards the growth of journalist and journalism.

“As a symbol of visionary leadership you have touched many lives directly or indirectly through your phenomenal leadership style. Your aspiration is to be one of the builders of a world of equality, a world where diversity is respected and value for people’s lives is Paramount. A world where religion and culture are not used as weapons of dispute and destruction, where leaders serve and not steal, where everyone does not pretend to love each other but does so straight from the heart.

“Prosperity will not forget you as you have started putting your name on the Stone -Tablet of History through a dint of hard work, dedication to a just course, commitment to a noble assignment of your father land.

“We celebrate you and share in your joy as you received this honour bestowed on you today by Osbc NUJ Chapel as the Life Patron of the union,” Chapel Chairman expressed.

While delivering his speech, Oba Oyelude appreciated the OSBC Chapel of the Osun NUJ for bestowed on him the life patron of the union, reaffirming his determination not to relent in contributing to growth of journalist and journalism in Osun, Nigeria and world at large.


Dignitaries present at the event were; OSBC Director General, Commissioner for Special Duties, Hon Olalekan Badmus, Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs Funke Egbemode, Royal Father’s, SSA Omeal, Hon Fausiat Olaniyan, SSA Protocol, Hon Dayo Fasola, Politicians amongst others.
