Olabode Towoju Debunks His Resignation Rumour

Commissioner for Communications in Kwara State, Mr Olabode Towoju has debunked the rumour of his resignition from the kitchen cabinet of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in the state

Mr Towoju made this known today while featuring on Viewpoint a Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ Radio Kwara Chapel Programme held at the Mandate Studio of the station

The Commissioner noted that he had initially concluded plans to resign as Commissioner to contest for House of Representatives, Irepodun-Isin-Ekiti- Oke-Ero Federal Constituency before he was persuaded by the good people of Aiyedun Community to remain in the State Executive Council

He pointed out that his resignation would be tantamount to selfishness if not well thought

On governance, Mr Towoju announced that four hundred road projects are ongoing across the three Senatorial Districts of the state

He itemized Osi-Obo, Yebumout-Adeta-Oloje dualization-Owode-Offaro,Ilere-Oro Ago Bani-Baruten Kaiama roads are carried out to engender rural-urban advancement to boost food security

The Commissioner described Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq as the most gender sensitive Governor in Nigeria for mainstreaming women into the nitty-gritty of governance

Mr Towoju maintained that Governor Abdulrazaq gender sensitivity in governance attracted he for she award in Abuja to spur him to sustain the tempo

The Commissioner said Governor Abdulrazaq is billed to receive another award from a students union for incorporating youth in the decision making process of the state

Also Speaking, General Manager, Radio Kwara, Ilorin, Alhaji Kayode Aremu highlighted efforts of the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in breathing fresh air to the station and applauded Commissioner for Communications Mr Olabode Towoju for being helpful in obliging the station when the need arises

Declaring the event open, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists,NUJ Kwara State Council, Comrade Abdul-lateef Ahmed reaffirmed the resolve of Journalists in ensuring neutrality before, during and after next year’s elections in the state


In her address, Vice Chairman of the Chapel, Mariam Abdul-Kadir-Yusuf said the Programme has been impactful on the people in showcasing personalities in all areas of human endeavours
