ODAG clears air on political patronage’s comment on Osogbo youth
The leadership of of Osogbo Development Action Group (ODAG) has cleared air on the statement made by Alhaji Muniru Raji, Spevial Adviser to Osun State Governor on Political Matters, alleging some youths of Osogbo of been paid by politicians to blackmail the incumbent administration.
In a statement signed by the Coordinator and Secretary of the group, Ajani Lukman and Oladejo Shuaib on Tuesday, ODAG cautioned Alh Muniru be mindful of his statement in the public about Osogbo especially on the Osogbo boundary issues to score cheap Political points.
The statement read; “Our attention has been drawn to a statement made on Rave FM’s “Oro Oselu” program on Monday 9th September, 2024, where Alhaji Muniru Raji, SA Political to Osun State Governor asserted that some youths of Osogbo were paid by politicians to blackmail the incumbent administration in order to score cheap Political points on the boundary concerns in Osogbo.
“We the youths of Osogbo under the umbrella body of Osogbo Development Action Group (ODAG) hereby categorically absolve our group from such allegations and assert that ODAG is a non-partisan group focused solely on contributing to the development of Osogbo.
“We urge Alhaji Muniru Raji, as a matter of respect to the industrious, patriotic and development-driven youths of Osogbo, to clarify his statement by absolving ODAG from the general remark which is capable of discouraging patriotic youths from leading struggles and actions in the interest of Osogbo, for fear of being tagged as politically motivated.
“Alhaji Muniru Raji himself is known for leading struggles in the interests of Osogbo community in the past and should wear the toga of providing exemplary mentorship in that regard.
“Furthermore, Alhaji Muniru Raji is advised to exercise cautions and restraints in his public remarks on issues bothering on Osogbo Boundaries with neighboring communities as doing so would be in the best interest of our collective heritage.”
