Members of Kelebe-Omu Landowners Association have reaffirmed their commitment to implement the judgment of the court on the Kelebe-Omu land dispute in Osogbo and Olorunda local government Areas of Osun state against the Nigerian Army.

The landowners made this known to the OsunReporters News on Monday in Osogbo, explaining that the Osun State High Court sitting in Ile-Ife presided over by Justice A. O. Ayoola had in January 10th, 2023 in the suit Number H.O.S/40/2020, held that the defendants (Nigerian Army) are using the acquired land for private purposes and not for public purposes for which the land was requisitioned by the Nigerian Army.

However, the Court ordered the Nigerian Army to vacate the land and pay the sum of 200 million naira to Kelebe-Omu Landowners for the destruction of their land.

The court also held that the acquired land has not been used to build Army Barracks which is official residence of service officers, but rather being used for private purpose as against the claim of the defendant.

While speaking on the matter, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Kelebe-Omu Landowners Association, Alhaji Hamed Loroki, who described the lawless act of the Nigerian Army by allocating part of the said land to individual for personal use, informed the general Public and the current occupants of part of the land that both the land and properties on it remain the sole property of Kelebe-Omu landowners as ordered by the Court of law.
