Nigerian varsity lecturer assassinated

Information reaching the OsunReporters News confirmed that asenior lecturer at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Dr. Osita Chinedu, has been killed by armed assailants in Awka, Anambra State.

According to reports, the incident occurred near the High Tension area on Monday evening when the attackers blocked his Toyota Corolla with their own vehicle.

_____Witnesses reported that the lecturer who hails from Nteje in Oyi local government area of Anambra State stepped out of his car to confront the men, who then shot him twice in the head.

_____Following the shooting, the assailants reportedly ran his vehicle over him before fleeing with it.

“After they fired two bullets on the man’s head, he fell down and blood started gushing from his head.

“Those thieves went into his car, ran the car over him before driving away with his Toyota Corolla and their own too.

____“Some people who knew the man contacted his people on phone”, an eyewitness told Leadership.

Dr. Chinedu’s death has left the UNIZIK community in mourning.

____The Anambra State Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident and called on the public for assistance in tracking the perpetrators or locating the stolen vehicle.

_____Police authorities urged anyone with information to contact their control room or the nearest station.
