New radio station, Akorede 98.9FM begins transmission in Osun

A new radio station, Akorede 98.9FM Iwo, in Iwo local government area of Osun State has commenced transmission.

The station which stated drawing the attention of listeners within and outside the state through many edutainment, news and current affairs programmes, occupied the airwaves on the third week of May, 2024.

Akorede Radio was established by an Iwo based business magnate and Chief Executive Officer of T.B Akorede & Sons Nig. Ltd., Mr Azeez Akorede who deals in all kinds of electronics and interiors.

Mr Akorede is an employer of labour that many many Nigerians are working in his company across some major cities in Southwest Nigeria.

The station which is located opposite Baptist High School, Adeeke, Iwo, Osun State started redefining radio broadcast in Osun and beyond with listeners calling in and live comments on social media to attest to quality of signals, contents and professional staff.

OsunReporters News gathered that the date for official commissioning of the new station will be announced soon.
