Sequel to the news of disengagement of both batch ‘A’ and ‘B’ N-power beneficiaries across the 36 states of the federation including FCT Abuja by the Federal Government to give room for new intake into the empowerment programme, many Nigerians are currently demanding for the exit plan about 500,000 outgoing N-power volunteers.

As stated by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajiya Umar Sadiya Farouq, that beneficiaries will be transit into government entrepreneurship and private sectors, while only successful volunteers will get the limited space available for engagement, OSUNREPORTERS NEWS gathered.

According to Minister Umar Sadiya, “As you all know, we are gradually transitioning you to the next level to make provision for others. The goal is to keep you Npowered while positioning Nigeria at the core of the post covid-19 digital economy.

“As apart of the transition process before eligible volunteers will be absorbed into government entrepreneurship schemes and engaging private sector bodies to absorb some of the beneficiaries, a compulsory completion of psychometric assessment would be done to determine competency and placement into various opportunities,” she said.

As confirmed by the OsunReporters Correspondent, only successful outgoing volunteers on the Psychometric Test Assessment will get the limited spaces available for engagement after batch-A would have exited in June 30, 2020 and Batch-B in July 31, 2020. More details about the Psychometric Test assessment will ensue in the incoming week.

“As part of efforts to diversify the nation’s economy, we will be opening opportunities in the services and real sectors of the economy where many of you will be redeployed,” the minister confirmed.

Some key sectors for redeployment include;

• Agriculture & Agro processing • Transport and Logistics
• Retail (e-commerce) • Real Estate • Hospitality
• Information & Communication Technology (ICT)
• Creative industry • Finance (agency banking)

These and many more will be done in collaboration with the private sector and respective government agencies, while many of the volunteers will require special training and assessment to make the shift into some sectors.

Recall that the Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo recently maintained that existing beneficiaries will not be thrown to the street as he explained in a virtual conversion with Channel TV.
