“Myself and gov Adeleke are the true progressive among southwest governors” – Seyi Makinde

Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, said there are two true progressive serving governors in the entire southwest Nigeria, naming himself and governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke.

Makinde also endorsed Adeleke for a second term in office as Osun state Governor come 2026.

Oyo governor made these known on Wednesday while commissioning the Stadium-Okebaale-Testing ground-Ilesa garage roundabouts road projects completed by Gov Adeleke’s administration, in Osogbo.

According to Makinde, “I congratulate Governor Adeleke for delivering dividends of democracy to the people of Osun State. The reward for hard work is more work, so give him more work to do for another four years.”

He described himself and Gov Adeleke as true progressives in the southwest who will continue to lead the path and provide good leadership for the people.

“When we are talking of Progressive, myself and governor Adeleke are the only true progressive who will continue to lead the path and provide good leadership for the people in Southwest.”

While rejoicing with Governor Adeleke for the landmark achievements recorded within two years in office, Gov Makinde promised full support for the battle ahead to secure victory, urging the people of Osun not to allow darkness to return to the state, adding that the road projects would boost the economy of Osun.

…..Speaking earlier, the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, paid tribute to the former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, who started the road projects before they were abandoned by the previous government.

He noted that Aregbesola will be happy about the completion of the projects, while reiterating that his administration has vowed not to abandon any projects since inception, as they are public assets that must be managed for the benefit of the people.

Gov Adeleke added that the completion of the dualization within record time will expand the economic growth of the capital city, Osogbo, and save people from untimely death and injuries.


,,,,—–The Governor advised against reckless driving and breaching of driving safety protocols, affirming that most accidents recorded on the ongoing road projects were caused by overspeading and one-way driving, while appealing to road users to be safety conscious.
