The First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has said that her husband, President Bola Tinubu is not a magician. She acknowledged that the Tinubu administration inherited challenges from the past but expressed a commitment to address them without assigning blame to any previous administrations.

She made this remark during an interdenominational church service commemorating Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary in Abuja.

Mrs. Tinubu stressed that the problems faced by the government were not created by them and that her husband, like any leader, couldn’t perform magical solutions. She conveyed her optimism that the nation would achieve peace under his leadership, emphasizing that the best is yet to come.

She also emphasized the importance of good governance, citing Jesus Christ as an example to follow, embodying qualities such as love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, and forgiveness. Mrs. Tinubu believed that Nigeria was entering an era of abundance and urged Nigerians to look beyond their current circumstances and embrace hope.

She concluded by encouraging people to maintain hope, drawing inspiration from the teachings of Jesus Christ, who offered rest to those burdened with labour and troubles, and emphasized the importance of nurturing the hope that Christ had instilled in them during challenging times.
