Monarch’s Police Orderly, Driver Kidnaped At Home
A police orderly and driver working with the paramount ruler of Rumu-Elechi community in Nkpolu-Orowurokwo, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State have been reportedly kidnapped by some unidentified gunmen.
According to reports, the victims were abducted on Saturday at the residence of the monarch, around Eagle Island in Port Harcourt, and have not made contacts for ransom at the time of this report.
While condemning the incident, a top member of Diobu Vigilante and Chief Security Officer of Nkpolu-Orowurokwo Godstime Ihunwo, said that the incident happened around 8pm, noting that the original target of the kidnap was the monarch, noting that he was alerted to the action of the kidnappers and rushed down there only to discover that the original target was the monarch, calling on the police to conduct a thorough investigation to arrest the culprits and ensure the victims’ release.
According to him; “I received a call about abduction of HRH Cornwell Ihunwo about 9pm on Saturday 22ndJune,2024. I rushed down to his house at Eagle Island where I met him. Chief Cornwell told me it is his driver and Police orderly who were abducted.
“We condemn the planned abduction of HRH Cornwell Ihunwo and call on the Police to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.”
While confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the command has launched an investigation into the incident.
At the time of filing this report, the location of the abducted victims still unknown.
