Man confesses to killing Vanguard reporter, gives details

A hit-and-run driver Itoro Clement confessed to running over missing Vanguard reporter Tordue Salem.

Salem had been missing since October 13.
Parading the suspect at IRT premises in Abuja on Friday, Itoro said he struck Salem in the Mabushi area on October 13 and fled.

Itoro, 29, from Akwa Ibom state, said he was driving around Mabushi to bring in at night when he ran over a pedestrian, for fear of being lynched, he fled.

According to him, his car was damaged and he repaired it the next day and continued his activity.

Speaking at a parade on Friday, the young man said he didn’t stop because he believed he was an armed robber.
