Man Arrested For Killing his 7-Year-Old Boy For Money
Police have arrested a man in Enugu, southeastern Nigeria, on suspicion of killing his son for money laundering.
A pastor in the state has also been arrested for the crime, according to the police.
Enugu police spokesman Daniel Ndukwe said in a statement on Thursday, November 11, 2021, the disappearance of the seven-year-old boy was reported on October 22, before it was later discovered that he had been killed. is to worship.
Mr Ndukwe, deputy inspector general of police, said after obtaining information on the whereabouts of the missing boy, police arrested his father, Onyishi Chidi, 36, on November 6 at Coal Camp, Enugu.
“Chidi pleaded guilty and led police to arrest 95-year-old blind Pastor Okeke Eneokwor, who was identified as the culprit.
“He also led the police and a team of doctors to a stream in Abakpa-Nike, Enugu, where the body of a young girl was exhumed from a shallow grave,” he said.
But a police spokesman said the state commissioner of police, Lawal Abubakar, had ordered a full investigation into the crime.
“The commissioner also directed the state criminal investigation commission to take immediate action to ensure that all those found guilty in the case are brought to justice,” he said.
The commissioner of police called on the people of the state to be vigilant, law abiding and orderly, and to immediately report the perpetrators and their activities to the nearest police station.
