Making Okada, Napep Riders Jobless Without Providing Alternative Jobs is not fair enough – Raji Jamiu Babatunde
Making Okada, Napep Riders Jobless Without Providing Alternative Jobs is not fair enough – Raji Jamiu Babatunde
The deed has been done already by the Lagos State Government who just placed ban on Okada and Keke Napep in the state but the truth must be told as at when due, so many people were managing genuinely using Okada and Keke Napep because that was the only thing they could rely on, which i believe is good considering what joblessness could bring as we all know the Idle hand is a devil workshop because we all can’t get a white collar job nor everyone can work in office.
I want to believe that the State Government might have given them notice before taken such actions but they shouldn’t have gone to the extent of harassing the citizens, they should have under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry created a way to compliment such decision because it is tantamount to depriving them the means of their living and the outcome might not be friendly (I pray it never happen) it might be easier for an Okada man to relocate his machine but i pity those people riding Keke Napep, how would they survive if there is nowhere to get means of living again (Aya o je, Omo o je)?
I want to now make my opinion very clear to any government who might embark or take such actions in the future to make sure there are some provisions on ground to compliment such decision.
