Leader of Osun Prayer Warriors makes shocking revelation on Aregbesola, Oyetola’s court victories, says; He was part of brains behind 2018 guber victory

In a chart with the Osun Reporters correspondent in Osogbo, the Director General of GIOMANIA Group, Aremo Lateef Adegboyega Adelabu spoke extensively on his incursion into Progressive government in Osun, how the idea of town hall meetings across Osun set foundation for the successful 2018 guber poll, and his involvement as the leader of the prayer group in support of the Ogbeni Aregbesola and Gboyega Oyetola’s led governments.

My name is Aremo Adegboyega Lateef Adelabu, from Osogbo, an active member of the APC, and CEO Koblad Du Midas.

I started the struggle with Ogbeni Aregbesola since 2004/2005 when he came to contest for the governorship seat. We formed a group named “Omoluabi”, we latter changed the name of the group to “Itesiwaju”. By God grace, the group was the first to launched ideological attack on Oyinlola led government. The first fliers that was distributed to the people of Osun to explain the antics of the PDP government in Osun was done by the group. Some members of the group were the immediate past Deputy speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Akintunde Adegboye, Comrade Waheed Lawal, Goke Butika, Akeem Gbolagade BAG, Mutairu Akere (OPF Coordinator) among others. I formed and financed the group, I always come to the meeting from Ibadan every weekend before I came back to Osogbo for the full activities across board. So, I can boldly say that we were the first group to start working for Ogbeni Aregbesola in Osogbo even before he came to Osun.

In 2007, I coordinated the election of Osogbo Local Government, I was in INEC office for three days. I and Alh Fariogun distributed all the logistics provided by the party for the smooth running of the election. After the election, we have about N250,000 left with me that no body knew about because we used my car for the distribution of the logistics, but I returned the leftover money to the party.

The issue of Prayer warriors in support of Aregbesola’s government came up after the 2007 election was rigged against the Action Congress (AC). I came up with the idea of quarterly prayer for Aregbesola to be victorious of the court cases. We thank God, our prayers were answered after seven and a half years when the highest court in the land gave verdict in favor of Rauf Aregbesola.Photo: Governor Oyetola and his predecessor, Aregbesola

When we got the mandate, many of us expected a lots to come from the party, we were promised appointments into the government but nothing come till now. I contested for Local Government Chairman, State Assembly and House of Representative within the party ACN, APC in my constituency, but the leadership of the party conceded the tickets to another members of the party.

During the 2018 primary elections in Osun, no one could believe how the ticket was taken away from me again. It was at the tail end of the submission of the list of the candidates to the INEC that many people realized the ticket wasn’t given to me by the party. Many of our Chairmen, women leaders, youth leaders in Osogbo local government stood by me to the extent that party members protested against the way the house assembly ticket was taken away from me again.Photo: Aremo and his people during the campaign

When they took the protest to the state party Secretariat, government house, and even to the state party chairman’s residence in Osogbo, it was then that governor-elect Oyetola and the party Chairman Prince Gboyega Famodun intervened and told me to accept the party decision if I could trust them of better opportunity ahead as the apex authority of the state party. I agreed but it took me extra stress to calm those who are agitating on my behalf.

Instead of relenting or involving in anti-party activities, I continued the struggle of “RAUFMANIA” to support the administration of Ogbeni Aregbesola.
Let me tell you this for record purpose, when Osun APC were boiling against one agitation or the other, when both party leaders and members were thinking of how to bring the party together, I came up with the ideal of town hall meeting across the local government of the state to peruse the mind of the people so we can know how to solve them before the governorship election. I submitted the proposal to Governor Aregbesola and he instantly agreed to it and I was directed to meet with Comrade Olateju Adunni for the implementation. The proposal was implemented. Thank God, Aregbeaola succeeded and Oyetola won the election.

In continuation of the support, I came up with another idea by forming another group named “GIOMANIA” to support the governorship campaign of Governor Oyetola in both physical and spiritual.

Now, Governor Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola’s administration has come to stay in continuation of the progressive government of the APC in Osun. We’ve been supporting him since the party primary election, we campaigned for his governorship election true GIOMANIA, the name was derived from his name Gboyega Isiaka Oyetola.

We campaigned across the local governments in the state without any sponsor from outside. Some of our contributions were; two branded vehicles, billboards, radio and TV adverts, fliers, customized t-shirts and face carps for our members, customized notebooks for students, house to house campaign team among others. Thank God, Ilerioluwa has come to stay.

Now, the opposition party challenged the victory of Gboyega Oyetola as the legitimate governor of the state of Osun, GIOMANIA Group has took it upon ourselves to stand as the prayer warriors as we did for Aregbesola. We organized the first prayer in Osogbo a day before the tribunal judgement which was attended by the party chieftains, government functionaries and party members at the Ansarudeen praying ground in Osogbo, and since then we’ve being having the prayer at our Osogbo office.Photo: prayer session for the Oyetola’s court victory

I thank God, we’ve seeing the positive signal from God at the just delivered court of appeal judgement. I am one of the happiest man in Osun for my selfless services in support of Governor Gboyega Oyetola and our great party (APC). Our prayer continues even to the supreme court level, and for the success of the Ilerioluwa true out his administration because this government will be the best of the bests in terms of developmental projects to transform the State of Osun.
