Lagbaja was poisoned by military cabal, didn’t die of cancer – Ex-presidential spokesman
A fresh shocking revelation about the death of late Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja has been made by former presidential spokesman and publisher of Point-blank News, Mr Jackson Ude, who alleged that the Lagbaja was killed through poison by some military cabal with “sinister motives”.
It should be recalled that Jackson was the first to announce the death of the army Chief in October. Though, military authorities dismissed his claim as fake.
______According to a post on his official X handle on Thursday, Jackson while quoting sources within the military, report that the theory that General Lagbaja died of cancer was put together so that nobody will be held responsible for the poisoning of the Army Chief.
_______According to him, “A new information provided by a top level Military official has suggested that late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, was poisoned to death by some “military cabal with sinister motives.”
“Lagbaja died on October 17 but his death was kept away from the public due to heightened tensions and fears within the…….military and the Presidency. When I broke the news of the death of the Army Chief on October 20, the Army promptly denied it calling it “fake news.”
“Informants within the military circle told me that the theory that Gen. Lagbaja died of Cancer was put together so no one is fingered to have been responsible for the poisoning of the Army Chief.
______“After announcing his death few days ago, the cause of his death was not disclosed.
“He couldn’t have died of cancer. I know him well enough. He does not have a history of cancer and never told me he has cancer.
______“He was healthy and agile. At least you can see from the video where he was doing press up with soldiers. No one with stage terminal cancer would do that. He was certainly poisoned,” the source who doesn’t want to be named told me.
_____“The source continued “the Government and the military must investigate the circumstances leading to his death and make it public. After all, he was a public official.”
“However, there has been some disquiet within the military with fears of a possible coup. Although the……rumor of a possible coup has been dismissed my top military leaders. A source told me that the hardship in the country and the insecurity it poses are major concern within the military.”
