,,,,,,Eneyi Zidougha, who was the embattled acting chairman of the Labour Party’s Bayelsa State chapter, was removed from office with fewer than fifty days remaining before the general elections in Nigeria scheduled for 2023.

Zidougha was removed from his position on Friday during a state congress that was held at the party secretariat in Yenagoa, which is the capital of Bayelsa state.

…..Misappropriation of funds and activities detrimental to the party were cited among the many reasons given by the stakeholders for their decision to take action.

Ebi Sikpi, a former Vice Chairman of the Labour Party in the Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, was elected as the substantive chairman of the party in the state.

……Sikpi expressed his gratitude to the various stakeholders for considering him worthy of leading the Labour Party in the run-up to the general election in 2023, and he pledged to promote harmony.

“We will work to ensure that there is harmony within the party so that Peter Obi can win the election as our leader.

“There is hope, light has come to the party in Bayelsa State,” and he emphasized the word “party,” he stated.
