Koka Community Celebrates New Year, Urges Gov Adeleke On Speedy Approval of New Oni-Koka

The indigenes and residents of Koka Community in Owode of Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State marked the end of year 2024 and the beginning of New Year 2025 in a grand style.

OsunReporters News Correspondent who was at the event, reports that the event held in Koka town was attended by dignitaries where residents thanked almighty God for spearing their lives, identifying the grace of God and achievement recorded in the year ended.

However, leaders in the community also expressed concerns on the vacant stool of Oni-Koka of Koka, urging the state government under governor Ademola Adeleke to appoint the right person from the next ruling house to fill the vacant position.

In his remark, Chairman of Koka Community, Mr Akeem Atoyebi stated that the community is in support of Prince Operinmade Adejumo Amos of Anibijuwon ruling house to ascend the throne for the peace and development of Koka Community.

He applauded governor Adeleke for not listening to those who want to bypass the due process to ascend the throne of Oni-Koka.

According to him, “We thank Governor Ademola Adeleke for good work going on across Osun State. We also register our stand on the Oni-Koka stool. We want Governor Adeleke to approve the person we want as King.

“We also thank Governor Adeleke for not listening to some people trying to get to the throne through the back door. The choice of the community is Prince Adejumo Amos Aperinmade to ascend the throne of his ancestors as Oni-Koka.”

While speaking, the Special Adviser to governor Adeleke on Security Matters, Barrister Samuel Ojo Oludare represented by Olaniyi Taiwo from the department of security matters in Osun state, thanked the people of Koka for their support, noting that the government will continue to prioritise welfare of Osun residents.

In their separate remarks, Mr AbdulRaufu Oyedokun Adeshina, Ifetedo Chairman in Koka; Mrs Morenikeji Abokede and Mrs Ayeni from Iragbiji; thanked Governor Ademola Adeleke’s government for the ongoing projects across Osun for the benefit of the people, reaffirming their commitments and support to the Adeleke’s administration till 2030.


The community also pleaded to Governor Ademola to approve the nomination of Prince Operinmade as new Onikoka of Koka to move the community forward.
